The module is a part, not a product. Certification belongs to the finished assembly, and the test plan should be agreed before the first sample is built.
What ships with a module
A module ships as a board with the coil and shield fitted, or as a kit for a team that mounts the coil itself. The first is faster to integrate, the second fits an enclosure the board cannot.
Either way the coil distance is fixed per drawing. It is the one dimension that cannot move after the sample without retuning the detection and retesting the product.
Certification follows the product
A Qi2 certificate names a product, not a board. Put the module in an enclosure with a different coil distance and the finished product needs testing again, including the foreign object detection behaviour that depends on the assembly.

- The coil distance tolerance the factory can hold in production.
- The thermal path from the shield to the enclosure surface.
What a brief should contain
Send the enclosure material and wall thickness, the available input, the annual volume and the phone or device the coil has to serve. Four lines are enough for a drawing and a sample quote.

- Coil distance: fixed per drawing, with a production tolerance.
- Re-test: named owner and budget, before the sample.
- Volume: annual quantity, because tooling is quoted against it.
