FAQ

The certification and ordering questions that stall a first order

Most first orders stop on the same handful of questions. These are the answers we give by email, written down so they can be checked against a certificate file.

Profiles and certification

The part that decides whether the box claim survives a check.

What is the difference between Qi2 and Qi2.2?

Qi2 is the magnetic profile at 15W with a magnet ring for alignment. Qi2.2 is the 2025 update that raises the magnetic ceiling to 25W. The ring is the same idea; the power stage, the heat path and the phone support are what change.

Does a Qi2 charger work with an iPhone?

Yes, from iPhone 12 onward, where the magnet ring aligns with the charger. The phone decides the rate it accepts, and a Qi2.2 charger will still charge an iPhone at the rate the iPhone supports.

Is a magnetic charger the same as MagSafe?

No. Qi2 is a Wireless Power Consortium standard, and Made for MagSafe is a separate Apple authorisation. A Qi2 product can be described as working with MagSafe phones; it should not be described as MagSafe certified unless Apple has authorised it.

What does a 25W charger need to reach 25W?

A phone that supports Qi2.2, a power supply rated above 25W, a cable that carries it, and a charger that can hold the heat. Miss any of the four and the pair settles at a lower rate.

How do I verify a Qi2 certificate?

Take the model number from the quotation and search the WPC product database. The entry names the product, the profile and the power. Then compare it with the certificate file and the box: all three should name the same model.

Why is a 3 in 1 more expensive than three pads?

Because the watch does not charge on Qi. Each watch family needs its own module, with its own coil and communication, and that module is the most expensive part of the station.

Which certifications come with a charger?

Qi2 or Qi2.2 from the Wireless Power Consortium, plus the market marks the destination requires: CE and RoHS for the EU, FCC and IC-ID for North America, UKCA for the UK, KC for Korea, PSE for Japan. Files are supplied per model and market.

Why do wireless chargers get warm?

Any coil loses energy as heat, and the loss rises with power. At 15W it is noticeable; at 25W the charger has to move roughly twice the heat through the same footprint, which is why the housing and the shield matter as much as the coil.

Supply

Ordering, samples and documents

What happens between the quotation and the first shipment.

What is the minimum order?

1,000 pieces per model on most builds, and 500 on a few. The minimum exists because tooling, packing and certification are set up per model, not per unit.

Can the product carry our brand?

Yes. Private label covers the housing marking, the packing, the manual and the compatibility line. Artwork approval is part of the schedule, so late artwork moves the delivery date.

How long does a sample take?

Quoted per build. A standard build with existing tooling ships faster than one with a new housing, and the sample is where the case, the angle and the adapter are decided.

What documents come with a shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list, the certificate files for the models and markets in the order, and the label data the destination requires. Ask for the list early, because a missing file at the port costs more than the file.

What about warranty and spare parts?

Terms are supplied with the quotation. For chargers the parts that matter are the coil assembly, the adapter and the cable, and they are quoted with the order rather than sourced later.

One question we cannot answer from here

Which profile your phone list can actually use. It changes with the model, the case and the adapter, and a supplier who answers it without the model list is guessing.

Send the phone models, the volume and the market. The reply is a profile, a build and the certificate list, which is the answer you can take to a buyer.

What to send
Phone models, volume, market
What comes back
Profile, build and certificate list
Turnaround
One reply, from one person
What it costs
Nothing, and no account is created
